1. After log-in Samarth Portal the home page may be appear like
following image. (may be different if other roles are also assigned to PI)
2. Go to finance Finance > Research Project Management.
3. Research Project Management (RPMS) view : ongoing project details
4. Research Projects> Add New Research Project
5. Basic details of the PI will be appear automatically.
Details of Co-PI and mentor need to filled using dropdown search function.
If Co-PIs is/are associated with other Institute, mention the Institute also.6. Project details should be filled
For Funding Agencies: select more than one funding agencies if multiple funding agencies associated in same project, otherwise need to search and select only single funding agency.
Note: If name of desired funding agency is not available in dropdown, PI need to contact Office of Dean (Research). Office will update it.
7. Provide project clearance information (if application)
A. Institute Ethical Committee
B. Institute Biosafety Committee
C. Institute Animal Ethical CommitteeAttachment need to be uploaded
8. To upload file, select ALL FILES to select/find PDF. (merge PDF online)
9. Requirement from Institute & PI records should be filled
10. Project Proposal & endorsement need to be uploaded in PDF (select ALL FILES to select/find PDF (like point no 8)) (merge PDF online)
11. Project Proposal summary after click SAVE & CONTINUE>>
12. Next Step is to fill funding details (tentative budget)> Select start & closure of financial years. e.g. 2024-25 & 2028-29 (Note-Financial years should be chosen carefully, once choose can not be reverse back**-reverse option will be provided shortly)
13. Their are two procedures to fill funding details: A. Fill in web portal form (prefer it). B. Bulk upload using excel sheet.
13A. Kindly directly fill web portal form in case of single funding agency.
Note: Contact your Dean (Research) office before selecting budget head. Function to deleted unwanted dropdown options will be provide shortly so that Office can do that.

13B For Bulk upload funding details
13B1. Kindly download Excel sheet
13B2. In excel sheet Budget Head/ Items will be appear in dropdown.
Kind contact R&D section if desired Budget Head/Item not appear in dropdown
13B3. In Funding Agency: dropdown will appear as already filled funding agency(ies) as per point no 6
13B4. Fill the Excel and save
13B5. Upload the filled Excel
Browse File from Computer> Open> Upload the File
13B6. Portal will show all details after upload the Excel> Submit it
14. Next view
15. Preview
Submit for Approval
